Arabian chameleons are found in Yemen and Oman, where they live in the wetter areas of the Arabian Peninsula. In Oman, they are found in the monsoon-affected mountain ranges of southern Dhofar. However, an isolated introduced population exists on Masirah Island, a few hundred kilometers north in the Arabian Sea. When visiting the island I could not pass up the opportunity to look for some in a wooded area, where they proved to be abundant. Unfortunately I could not photograph any in situ because all of the ones I found were sleeping too high in the trees. After an hour of searching I settled for this big daddy to take some glamour shots.
